Brian Haw began a protest against the sanctions on Iraq in Parliament Square, London on June 2nd, 2001. 8 years later, he was still there. Although there are many laws that cover violent protests, there was no way for the Government to stop this peaceful protest. The Serious Organized Crime and Police Act was passed in April, 2005, in an effort to stop Brian, but his

protest started before this law - so he is exempt. In fact, everyone is. The United Nations Convention on Human Rights states: Article 19 - Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. Article 20 - Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly. Article 30 - No Government can interfere with these Rights. A good man passed away JANUARY 7TH 1949 - JUNE 18TH 2011.
